Sellhelm keeps getting better.

The US edition is new. Every 4.x update is included in your license and appears in your account. Here is what the US edition brings, then the changes it shares with the UK edition, release by release.

The US edition

What is new for US sellers

  • Sellhelm now has a US edition, for sellers on eBay US. It is new, so it has had less time in use than the UK edition.
  • Prices are in dollars and are worked out after eBay US's final value fee and the per-order fee. eBay collects and pays the sales tax on eBay sales itself, so it never enters the sums.
  • Finances estimates federal income tax, self-employment tax and a flat percentage for your state, shows the four estimated-payment dates (April 15, June 15, September 15 and January 15), and works on the calendar year with Schedule C style headings.
  • Finances also notes eBay's Form 1099-K reporting, which starts above $20,000 and 200 sales.
  • Orders and listings use US wording: shipping, ZIP codes and carriers.

Suppliers

  • Any shop with an ordinary product page can be pasted in, and eBay.com item pages are read through eBay's own API.
  • Shops with their own reader are added to the US list one at a time, and only once each has been proven on real pages.

Adding the Chrome extension

  • A step-by-step window walks you through adding the Chrome extension: one button opens Chrome's extensions page, another opens the right folder, your folder path is ready to copy, and a box turns green when it works.
  • Start menu > Sellhelm > Set up the Chrome extension opens it, and Setup can open it when it finishes.

Moving to a new computer

  • Settings has a Moving to a new computer card at the top: one file carries your products, drafts, templates, prices and price history, orders, books and settings, and your eBay connection if you choose.
  • Give the license back, and it is free to use again from your account. Then enter the key on the new computer and bring your data across in one click.

Licensing

  • Sellhelm connects to us once when you enter a license, then works offline, with a quiet daily check for canceled licenses. Nothing about your shop is sent.
  • Settings has a Revoke button, to give a license back or to move it to another computer.

More reliable

  • If Windows is slow to say which computer Sellhelm is on, it says so and asks again, instead of turning a valid license away.
  • It works behind antivirus web shields and company proxies that add their own security certificate.
  • Plainer messages when eBay is not connected yet, and when our website is busy.

Safer

  • Only Sellhelm's own Chrome extension can talk to the panel.
  • Reports opened in a spreadsheet cannot run a supplier's text as a formula.

Pricing you can trust

  • Prices set by the return you want on what you spend, after every eBay fee and each supplier's shipping charge.
  • Type any price on a product and see what you would keep before you set it, or pin your own price.

Safety rails

  • Big price jumps are held for you to look at, with a Send it now button. A stock-out still goes through while a price waits.
  • A limit on how many changes go in one run, and nothing is sent if too many supplier pages fail to read.
  • Sellhelm will not send a stock-out that would end a listing when eBay's out-of-stock option is off, and tells you how to switch it on.
  • Every check records what it did to every product: sent, refused, held, deferred or unreadable.
  • A supplier's name can never reach eBay: it is stripped, refused if found anywhere in a listing, and templates naming a shop are refused.

Suppliers

  • Wrong pages, redirects and ambiguous options are refused rather than guessed at.
  • A shop that starts refusing Sellhelm is left alone for 15 minutes and read through your browser instead.
  • Add products from any other shop by pasting its address.

Listings

  • A drafts tray: nothing goes on eBay until you compare the facts with the supplier's page, check it and press List. "Check with eBay first" asks eBay whether it would accept it.
  • Five listing designs with 1 to 24 photo slots. Shipping and returns wording follows your eBay policies.
  • In the box and safety-note blocks, and your shop name or logo on every listing. No scripts and no hosted images.
  • Categories chosen from eBay's suggestion and Sellhelm's own word matching, item specifics filled in, and photos checked for size and format.

Orders and money

  • An order desk with real eBay states, photos, days left to ship, the supplier's page a click away, and the address in copy-on-click parts that are never saved.
  • Tracking goes straight onto the eBay order. Feedback is tracked. "What it really made" shows your true cost, fees and return.
  • Finances: sales, fees, goods, costs, profit, tax to put aside, and a CSV for your accountant.
  • An Overview that shows what you kept, what needs you, your pipeline, catalog and eBay interest at a glance.

Looks and comfort

  • A wider layout, one consistent set of buttons, a dark theme and an optional panel lock.
  • Drag-to-reorder photos and a keyboard-friendly navigation.

Your data

  • Daily backups, plus one before anything risky. Export everything and Restore, and one data folder that updates never touch.
  • A proper Windows Setup: it carries its own runtime, adds Start menu shortcuts and a Sellhelm icon, appears under Windows Settings > Apps with an uninstaller, and updating is just running the new Setup.
  • One license per computer.
